Issue #7!

Hi there everyone! Issue #6 has been out for a couple and so far, the response has been positive. Actually, there were a couple valid points about some of the content, but you can probably read about that in the next issue. A dark sense of humour and out of context comments can give people the wrong impression, but whatever.

Anyway, I'm starting to get some ideas rolling for issue 7. I'd like to have this one ready for early/mid December 2010, and this time I want to keep this promise. This will also be the final Cambridge-based issue, so I am hoping it will be the best one so far. I'm submitting my research degree in December and after that I will be moving back to the land of souvlaki and frappé, in a strategic move to bring Crucial 'Zine nearer to the birthplace of Western Civilisation and taint it all. Swish huh?

So basically if you'd like to contribute something for the next issue, whether it's interviews, ranting, reviews, pretty/fucked up drawings, pictures of cool shows/kids moshing or skating, your non-vegan and seriously bacon-focused recipes, the deadline is 15th of November. That gives me enough time to slap together layouts and avoid having my head explode when I should be worrying about wordcounts and references. I wanted to have a load of different covers for issue #6 (because I am still a comic book geek), like one for every 100 copies, but that failed for a bunch of reasons (mostly me not chasing up artists enough), so if you think you've got some mad skills with a pen or whatever, I'd especially be interested and give this another shot. If you're the sort of chatty person who doesn't mind taping random conversations with cool bands when you're drunk, I'd also appreciate interviews. Reviews are always welcome too, but if you're going to write about how awesome your mate's Rancid/'generic emo'/indie/trendy 'fusion'-like band is, I will tell you to fuck off (fuck off). Write about demos or records you got given/bought at a show and tell me how awesome or horrible they were. But yeah, I'm all ears.

If you are interested in getting your ideas out to 500 people all over the world, get in touch with me and we can brainstorm. The best way to do that is to either send a message through myspace or facebook, or if you're local, you can shout at me when you see me down the pub or a gig.

In the meantime, make sure you get the new Punch or Coke Bust record on your prefered media player device and take it easy.
