Work on issue #12 has already begun and the goal is to get it published in March! That is a good couple months away, so if you’ve been considering getting your zine feet wet, there is no time like the present!

Artists! If you can draw anything more complicated than a stick figure, you are more of an artist than I ever will be, so how about you showcase your amazing drawing skills in the new issue? You could do the cover, a coloring book section, your very own comic strip, a step-by-step tutorial - anything goes really if we can work out the details! The crazier, the better!

Writers! We like to ramble about fast (punk, ska, hardcore) and slow (reggae, hip-hop) music, boomer video-games, gnarly movies, mind-bending science/sci-fi, the craziness of everyday life and a ton more random stuff. Would you like to present your local scene, intimate knowledge of obscure/cool shit, passion or random thoughts on whatever it is that is grinding your gears? If you have a sense of humor and can organize your thoughts, lets work something out!

Photographers! Some people think that you get in the way of the action, but I think that your pictures of live shows are what get people interested in finding out about a band or scene, before they even get to listen to one note. If you go to shows and take pictures of bands and crows going off, how about you send some our way so that you can inspire others to pick a camera or guitar? That would be most excellent. I tend to use my entry-level smartphone and the result is embarrassing.

If you have any other ideas and would like to contribute something to the next issue, please send a message and we can talk details! You are also entitled to one (1) free high/lo five if you share this post so that more people know what’s up! By the way, thanks for taking the time to read so far!

See you soon!

Come down to this sweet party on Sunday to pick up the new issue of Crucial Zine and our Athens counterparts, the one and only Puke Soup! I'll be spinning all the great UK ska/punk I have been bitching about all these years, so you know you don't want to miss this!

Yo! Issue #11 is out! A minor cold actually kept me from getting this uploaded sooner, but here we are! This 56-page monolith of an issue features interviews with Satanic ska/punk legends Mephiskapheles, upcoming stand-up comedian Rose Vineshank, an insightful scene report from Drama by Tso Nee, a noob's guide to the Black Flag discography, radical coloring pages by Danai and a bitching cover by Aleks.

On top of that there is usual dose of science, video-games, zine and music reviews, cross-words, photos and other rants on the small and important things in life to sink your teeth in! I will be taking this to the print shop on Monday, so hard copies should be available mid-week! Also, make sure you're free this Sunday, yeah? 😏

PS: Issue 11 is getting along spectacularly! Expect some updates on this next week - it should be dropping in October, as planned.

Like, what would punk rock be without repeatedly missing deadlines? Anyway, Crucial Zine got invited to TWO amazing fests next weekend, so the proverbial whip has been cracked to finish up all remaining articles and layouts so that issue 10 gets printed in time. Unfortunately human cloning has not even reached "Multiplicity" levels yet, so if it's not ready, come by anyway to support these awesome groups of people and make fun of me for procrastinating.
